What is it exactly do personal stylists do?

Parsing a wardrobe

A basic service that can be full of unexpected twists and turns. Remember Marie Kondo's book, in which she dealt ruthlessly with the mess in people's homes? Prepare yourself for a lighter version of this action. You'll have to delve into the depths of your closet to find what will accompany you on your journey to a stylish new life. You'll have to look through a lot of things, measure things, and take pictures - you'll end up with several ready-made images that you can repeat in three minutes.

At this point, the stylist knows what you're wearing now and what you'd like to wear, as well as what's missing from your wardrobe. Of course, the analysis can be done online as well; for example, you may be asked to send photos of the clothes you wear the most frequently. However, it is still preferable to communicate in person because the process will be more efficient.

Shopping Support

It's time to go shopping once you've figured out exactly what you're missing. Determine the amount you are willing to pay ahead of time. In most cases, the stylist research the store selection in advance estimates what will suit you best, and then leads you along a clear route on the day of the meeting. This should reassure those who burst out laughing on the store's doorstep: you will not spend an eternity in a boutique and leave with a pile of useless items.

How to choose a stylist and work with them:

Listen to the recommendations

You're probably aware that word-of-mouth is the most effective method. Look at the specialist's profile, portfolio, and, if possible, customer testimonials. Keep in mind that you will be in constant contact with this only person.

If the stylist suggests something you don't like, don't run

Each stylist has his own style, but they will almost always try to take you outside the box. Do not be afraid to try on unusually styled trousers or a shirt that appears to be too bright at first glance. But if the result doesn't match your vision, don't give up: after all, you will be wearing these clothes.

Go to consultation on your own

Even if your loved one would enjoy participating in an exciting game of "dressing up" it is preferable to work with a stylist one-on-one. The specialist will not be distracted in this manner, and you will be able to hear yourself. When three heads are better than two, this is not the case.
